Monster Mash is a classic novelty song by Bobby Pickett inspired by monster movies. It’s a classic Halloween song where a mad scientist’s monster rises and performs a new dance. The song has appeared in TV shows such as Cheers, The Simpsons and Happy Days, and “Monster Mash: The Movie” was released in 1995 with Bobby Pickett as Dr Frankenstein.
Monster Mash is a Halloween classic! Bobby Pickett, the songwriter, created several versions of this song. The narration style throughout the song was inspired by Boris Karloff’s iconic performance as Frankenstein’s monster in the 1931 film, Frankenstein.
This easy piano tutorial by Andrew Wrangell is approximately grade 2 level. As it is a very popular and well-known song, it’s sure to be a fantastic repertoire choice, especially for beginners! This version is made especially to sing along to, so have fun!
