Learn how to play The Swashbuckling Pirate on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Set sail and set a course for all the seven seas, ye yellowbellied scalliwags! Sit down a spell while we (musically) tell you the tale of The Swashbuckling Pirate! No one knows the name of the pirate, only that when he arrives in port, his enemies flee and the lovers flock to him. When he’s on the sea and flies his pirate flag high ships make way for miles. But there’s one thing nobody knows but his crew… He puts on a great concert! Yes, on nights when the sun lingers on the horizon or when the moon hangs high in the sky, the raucous pounding of ebony and ivory can be heard throughout the ship, along with the chorus of crew members belting out sea shanties in the evening air. It is said that mermaids lure their prey through song but it’s less well known that these stories are from those that just heard the pirate’s song—this piano tutorial recounts one of his favorites!

The Swashbuckling Pirate is fantastic to play! You can learn it with our Synthesia piano tutorial, or from our official Sheet Music Boss sheet music at the top of the description!

Deep in the mysterious underbelly of social media sprung a spontaneous meme. This meme, involving four social media platforms, would go down in the ages as one of the most original, funny, exciting pieces of human culture to ever exist. This video is a reaction to that pinnacle of human thought. It had been eons since the world last saw a Rush video, but there it was in the Sheet Music Boss Community tab on YouTube: a mention of a piece not yet created, not yet thought of…

First, there was B. Next came the Great Community Guidelines Strike of 2018. Then, in what many critics call the greatest stroke of genius in the southern hemishpere, The Bosses made RUSH B (unofficially B 2: Russian Boogaloo), a full fledged Russian version of B that sparked a myriad of memes and songs on the channel… along with the unforgettable feedback on many videos of “Can you make this Russian?”. Well, the time has come to use the weapons of the trade and deliver one of the most epic versions of Rush B to yet exist. It was asked by the masses “Can you make this orchestral?”. The Bosses answered. Enjoy!

Edvard Hagerup Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist and is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. Lyric Suite is an orchestration of four of the six piano pieces from Book V of his Lyric Pieces, Op. 54. Both Grieg and the Austro-Hungarian conductor Anton Seidl had a hand in the orchestration. It consists of three pieces revised by Grieg from Seidl’s arrangements, and one piece arranged by Grieg alone. This piece is number 4, known as Notturno, or Nocturne, and offers a light and airy feel in its arrangement.

Learn how to play Advance Australia Fair CELEBRATION (Australian Anthem) by Peter Dodds McCormick, arranged by Andrew Wrangell, on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

“Advance Australia Fair” is the national anthem of Australia. Created by the Scottish-born composer Peter Dodds McCormick, the song was first performed in 1878 and sung in Australia as a patriotic song. It replaced “God Save the Queen” as the official national anthem in 1984, following a plebiscite to choose the national song in 1977. This means they held a competition (announced via an entire Australia Day speech) and had the entire country participate in order to create a whole new anthem “symbolic expression of our national pride and dignity”. The final entries were “Advance Australia Fair”, “Waltzing Matilda” and “The Song of Australia”, with the winning anthem receiving over 43% of the vote!. Other songs and marches have been influenced by “Advance Australia Fair”, such as the Australian vice-regal salute. Fill yourself with Aussie pride by learning the song with this amazing piano tutorial.

Learn how to play Polonaise by Rafał Bienias on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

A cool, brisk, starry night passes in Poland as Rafał Bienias sits down at his piano to compose a song, but there’s just one problem: Writer’s Block. For the life of him, he just can not manage to get out the chords and melodies in his head. He knows there’s something there. If only he could get the inspiration he needs – maybe he needs to take a walk, listen to some other music, play a game… Though, at this point, time travel wouldn’t be a bad option. “No,” he thinks to himself, “what a silly idea -”.

SHHHHHWOOOSH!!

It’s at that moment he feels himself pulled strongly backwards and suddenly blinded by a flash of light. Tumbling, freewheeling through a seemingly endless blue void, he sees visions of musicians, concerts, sheet music, and instruments, all while a cacophony of sound echoes around him. The last thing he sees is.. Wait, is that Chopin? Then another flash of light.

He tumbles out of the tunnel and lands with a thud – in front of none other than Frederic Chopin. Both incredulous as to what’s going on, neither can bring themselves to ask any questions about the situation. Rafał speaks first, introducing himself. He explains his situation, to which Chopin pulls him close, places a hand on his chest and says “Don’t play from your fingers. Play from here, your heart.” Something sparks in Rafał’s core and he knows exactly what needs to be done. One more flash and he’s back in his room, unsure if any of that just happened but the spark is still there. He places his fingers on the keys of his piano and plays, not from his fingers… but from his heart.
