The story of the Chasseurs Ardennais, whose emblem is the wild boar. A small Belgian unit of soldiers who were supposed to defend the borders and hold their ground along the K-W Line in May 1940. When the German armies, which included Rommelā€™s Ghost Division, approached the unit, they were supposed to retreat but due to communication failure the order never reached them. Instead they honoured their original orders, which were to defend the border at all cost. They fought so bravely and on such a large front, that they tricked the axis into believing that they were facing a force much larger than 40 rifles strong. When finally they were captured and their captors asked them -ā€where are the others?ā€ they simply laughed and answered. -ā€There are no others, we are all!ā€. The song gets its title from their motto Resiste Et Mords, in English, Resist and Bite.

“Children” is an instrumental composition by Italian composer Roberto Concina, professionally known as Robert Miles, Swiss born, Italian record producer, musician, composer, and DJ. First released in January of 1995, the song originally didnā€™t make the charts. After some work with a small number of others in the euro dance scene it was released as the lead single on Milesā€™ Dreamland album in November 1995. At this point the song became Miles’ most successful single, being certified Gold and Platinum in several countries and reaching number one in more than 12 countries. This song received instant praise and acclaim by many, due to its unique ā€˜dream house pianoā€™ sound, which employs an instantly recognizable and hypnotic piano melody, synth bass, strings/pads with a lot of reverb and delay, and a four-on-the-floor drum beat. Another reason this song was so popular is the reason behind its creation. Miles cited two influences to the inspiration of the track: one being photos of children affected by the Yugoslav War that his father had brought back from a humanitarian mission in the region. The other reason being that, at the time, there was a trend of club goers being involved in car accidents. Miles had the idea to play more calming music at the end of his set in order to bring attendees down a bit and help them avoid crashes on their way home. Thereā€™s multiple reasons why this song is so well loved and you can hear them in this beautiful piano arrangement!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a 2020 life simulation video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch, the fifth in the series. New Horizons sees the player assuming the role of a customizable character who moves to a deserted island after purchasing a deserted island package from Tom Nook, a tanuki character who has appeared in every entry in the Animal Crossing series. Taking place in real-time, the player can explore the island in a nonlinear fashion, gathering and crafting items, catching insects and fish, and developing the island into a community of anthropomorphic animals. This song gives off some early morning MIchael Buble or John Mayer vibes, though is probably a lesser known track from the game because not many people want to be up at 7am! Even if youā€™re not a morning person, this piano arrangement is great to learn for any time of day!
