Eons ago the ancient giants of yore ruled over the world. From caring over the vast green forests to protecting wildlife from evil, these peaceful creatures gently watched all. Some say that the faint low chants of the Giants’ March can still be heard today if you press your ear against an old tree. Giants’ March is a moderately difficult original piano piece suitable for pianists with a grade 5 (ABRSM, Trinity, AMEB) level of technical proficiency and higher. You will transport your audience with this music to lands of old; of an ancient and unknown age.

Learn how to play Afternoon Tea by Andrew Wrangell on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

When we last left our Cool Cats, Sam and Andrew, they were busy arranging a very red Christmas piece.

“Ah man, what a bloody ripper that Christmas tune turned out to be!” Sam exclaimed, clearly pleased with the result.

“Yeah!” Andrew replied, “I’m really jazzed about it! Wait!.. That’s it, that can be our next piece. A Jazz piece!”

“Well, we have to be careful not to make it *too* good, lest someone report us to the authorities for being too cool”

“What?! Nah, let em have it!”

And so they did. That day they created the coolest jazziest piece they could muster…. Then, they heard a siren and the sound of their front door being knocked in.

Learn how to play The Mausoleum (from Cuphead) by Kristofer Maddigan on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Cuphead is a game styled after 1930’s cartoons and features hand drawn artwork reminiscent of the era as well as original, fun, and engaging music that help make the game very enjoyable. The Mausoleum is a stage that exists in each area of Inkwell Isle. During the stage, a group of pink ghosts, called The Spectre Syndicate, will attempt to reach an urn that’s in the middle of an altar. Only by parrying each of the ghosts before they reach the urn will you win the level. In the game version of this song it is played (uncharacteristically) with an organ and a theremin to create that signature spooky sound.

Learn how to play Stickerbush Symphony (“Bramble Blast” from Donkey Kong Country 2) by David Wise on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Bramble Blast is the 16th level of Donkey Kong Country 2 and contains what is possibly the most famous and nostalgic songs of the soundtrack, if not of the entire group of games released at that time. What makes Stickerbush Symphony (sometimes called “Stickerbrush Symphony”) interesting is not only the fact that it almost wasn’t used (as it was originally intended for a water or cloud level), but that it serves as a “thorny juxtaposition” and calming influence in what turns out to be an extremely difficult level. Featuring a filters, synths, and a healthy dose of echo and delay effects, this song offers an excellent ambient atmosphere as you blast from barrel to barrel over and over again, making sure to time each shot just right. If you get upset at the level, just wait for an extra moment and take a deep breath as you let the music into your mind instead. Predictably, this arrangement sounds just as beautiful in our synthesia piano tutorial and makes for a wonderful calming piece to play for others.

Learn how to play Santa Claus is Coming to RUSSIA (originally Santa Claus is Coming to Town) by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

It’s a bright, sunny, Summer day in Brisbane, Australia, when much of the Northern Hemisphere is already deep in snow. But no matter where you look people are hurriedly shopping for loved ones, decorating for Christmas, and anticipating the arrival of Santa Claus. What most people don’t know is that Santa owns a timeshare in Brisbane, where he is able to keep an eye on the children of the world while making his Naughty/Nice list and then checking it twice. Usually he makes his list while listening to – you guessed it – Christmas music. This day, however, none of the music is making him happy, so he decides to search for new and exciting music for inspiration. He opens YouTube and searches for some piano music and before long he hears a song that had taken the world by storm only a year before – Rush B. Santa finds himself so inspired by the music, he knows he has to find them and ask them for a special piece of music.

Already being in Brisbane, he doesn’t have to look very far… He finds them at their favorite noodle restaurant!

“Are you the ones that composed Rush B?” He asks Sam and Andrew, who are a little incredulous of the man standing before them. “Y-yyeah?” Andrew responds, intrigued but amused. “Listen to me very closely, then. I need your help. I’ve been listening to all the beautiful Christmas music people have made for me over the years but this year it just isn’t hitting the same. I listened to Rush B (as well as all the other Rush arrangements) and… I’d like to commission you.” Santa admits. Samuel looks to Andrew. “Santa wants to commission us?” He asks. “Well, Saint Nick, what did you have in mind?”

“Well, one of my favorite songs is ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’… can you make it Russian? It would really go a long way towards keeping you two on my Nice list.” The two musicians look at each other with a gleam in their eyes.

Andrew speaks up. “Santa, when we’re done with this song, it’ll be redder than your suit!”

This piano arrangement and parody of Santa Claus is Coming to RUSSIA (originally Santa Claus is Coming to Town) is fantastic to play! You can learn it with our Synthesia piano tutorial, or from our official Sheet Music Boss sheet music at the top of the description!
