Amazing Grace is a well known Christian hymn written by John Newton in 1779. The lyrics come from Newton’s personal experience when he became involved in the Atlantic slave trade. When his vessel was violently knocked about in a storm, he called out for God. This marked Newton’s spiritual conversion and he ended his seafaring life and changed to studying Christian theology. The melody we know was taken from “New Britain” and William Walker joined the two together.
This piano arrangement would be a wonderful concert version of the work, with unique key changes and ideas spread throughout that are playable by intermediate level pianists. This is a wonderful piece of sheet music to have, so if you love the tune, we encourage you to check it out!
Lyrics:
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

The Sailor’s Hornpipe is a traditional tune, first published as the “College Hornpipe” in 1797 or 1798 by J. Dale (London). The comical nature of the music mixed well with the appearances of the tune in popular culture: Groucho Marx used the tune as well as Warner Bros. with Sylvester the Cat and Walt Disney with Donald Duck. Even the popular cartoon Popeye began using the tune in the opening credits from the 1930s. The Sailor’s Hornpipe has become relatively ubiquitous, and that makes this arrangement all the better for learning! Put this in your repertoire and you’ll have the entire audience whistling along: guaranteed! This piano arrangement is prepared for intermediate level pianists and above.

What is love?
Baby, don’t hurt me
Don’t hurt me no more
Baby, don’t hurt me
Don’t hurt me no more
What is love?
Yeah, yeah
(Ooh, ooh)
I don’t know why you’re not there
I give you my love, but you don’t care
So what is right?
And what is wrong?
Gimme a sign
What is love?
Baby, don’t hurt me
Don’t hurt me no more
What is love?
Baby, don’t hurt me
Don’t hurt me no more

Lyrics:
Se gnorízo apó tin kópsi
Tou spathioú tin tromerí,
Se gnorízo apó tin ópsi,
Pou me viá metráei ti gi.
Ap’ ta kókkala vgalméni
Ton Ellínon ta ierá,
Kai san próta andreioméni,
Chaíre, o chaíre eleftheriá!
I recognize you by the fearsome sharpness,
of your sword,
I recognize you by your face
that hastefully defines the land (i.e. the land’s borders).
From the sacred bones,
of the Hellenes arisen,
and valiant again as you once were,
hail, o hail, Liberty!
I shall always recognize you
by the dreadful sword you hold,
as the Earth with searching vision
you survey with spirit bold.
From the Greeks of old whose dying
brought to life and spirit free,
now with ancient valour rising
let us hail you, oh Liberty!
We knew thee of old,
O, divinely restored,
By the lights of thine eyes,
And the light of thy Sword.
From the graves of our slain,
Shall thy valour prevail,
As we greet thee again,
Hail, Liberty! Hail!

We’ve made something that no one ever dreamed a YouTube channel could achieve…We’ve made B into a Russian piece, and then turned that Rush B into an Irish jig. Yes, it truly is one of the greatest works of art that all of the fans have been screaming at us for years to put out.
Now it’s done.
We decided to pay respects to the Irish with our own very special Irish Jig version of Rush 🅱! (Rush B) This is a very fun version to play, with various quirks that follow that rather idiomatic and characteristic style of Irish Jig! We are 100% sure that if you like Rush B, you’ll love this one, so make sure to check it out! It is prepared for upper intermediate and advanced level pianists, so if that sounds like you, this could be your next piece for a concert!

Lyrics:
I danced in the morning when the world was young
I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun
I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth
Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced for the scribes and the Pharisees
They wouldn’t dance, they wouldn’t follow me
I danced for the fishermen James and John
They came with me so the dance went on
Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame
The holy people said it was a shame
They ripped, they stripped, they hung me high
Left me there on the cross to die
Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
I danced on a Friday when the world turned black
It’s hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body, they thought I was gone
But I am the dance, and the dance goes on
Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that will never, never die
I’ll live in you if you’ll live in me
I am the Lord of the dance, said he
Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he
