Billie Jean is one of Michael Jackson’s hit singles from the 1982 album Thriller. It’s one of the best-selling singles worldwide, all time. According to Michael Jackson, the song is based on “groupies” he encountered. Billie Jean is known for its distinct bassline and the sound of its drum beat.
Fun fact: The song was mixed 91 times by the engineer, however the second mix was chosen as the final song. The music video was also the first by a black artist to be aired in heavy rotation. The song has been covered by many other artists and Billie Jean made Michael Jackson a pop icon worldwide.
