Requiem for a Dream (2000) is a film by Darren Aronofsky. It stars Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Wayans. It received positive critical reviews at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival (outside of the competition), and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress (Burstyn). Clint Mansell wrote the soundtrack to the film, which was performed by Kronos Quartet. The featured piece of music throughout Requiem for a Dream is Lux Aeterna, which is referenced throughout. Lux Aeterna has become synonymous with the name “Requiem for a Dream” since. This awesome piano arrangement contains all of the power of the original, realised in a new and exciting way.
