The Legend of Zelda theme was written by Koji Kondo for the NES game The Legend of Zelda. Since 1986, The Legend of Zelda franchise has flourished, with several games across all Nintendo systems as well as an animated television series “The Legend of Zelda” that ran in 1989. Nintendo also commissioned individual manga adaptations since 1997. Several of games from The Legend of Zelda franchise have made it onto top 100 lists of the greatest games of all time. The iconic music features throughout the games, sometimes in tandem with the puzzles that the series is well known for.
