Super Mario 64 is a 1996 platform video game for the Nintendo 64 and the first in the Super Mario series to feature three-dimensional (3D) gameplay. As Mario, the player explores Princess Peach’s castle and must rescue her from Bowser.#CoolCoolMountain is the sixth world found inside a painting, in the games #SuperMario64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The entrance is on the first floor of Princess Peach’s Castle, and behind the left star door labeled “3.” It is the home of several Penguins and Spindrifts. The game has been praised in the gaming press, and is still highly acclaimed. It has collected numerous awards, including various “Game of the Year” honors by members of the gaming media, as well as Nintendo’s own best-selling Player’s Choice selection. In addition, Super Mario 64 has been placed high on “the greatest games of all time” lists by many reviewers, including IGN, Game Informer, Edge, Yahoo! Games, and Nintendo Power. Electronic Gaming Monthly awarded the game a Gold award in its initial review, and in Edge magazine, Super Mario 64 was the first game to receive a perfect score. This piano arrangement highlights the fun nature of the song which employs alternating bass/chord jumps in the left hand, and mostly major and minor thirds in the right hand to make an incredibly memorable melody!

Learn how to play Dire, Dire Docks (from Super Mario 64) by Koji Kondo on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!
Dire, Dire Docks is a course in the Nintendo 64 3rd person platforming game Super Mario 64. In order to access Dire, Dire Docks, Mario must look to the left of the Mushroom Castle main basement room and enter through the star door there. Through the door it looks like a painting made of water, and jumping through it initiates this wonderful soundtrack that we have come to know and love. The Dire, Dire Docks music is a gentle and soft track with flowing melodies and beautiful modal mixture harmonies throughout. Dire, Dire Docks fits exceptionall well under the hands on piano and is a joy to play in our piano arrangement!
