Russians is a single by Sting from his first studio album The Dream of the Blue Turtles (1985). Meant as a social commentary against the Cold War foreign policy, Russians was inspired by Sting’s friend, who invented a way to watch Russian television by stealing a satellite signal from Russian TV. Notably, the song features an excerpt from the double bass solo in Sergei Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé Suite. This beautiful lyrical track by Sting sounds incredible on piano, and any fan of Russians will love hearing this original piano arrangement.
