Stitches, originally recorded by Shawn Mendes for his debut album Handwritten, is about hurt and the loss of love, missing someone and trying to move on from a breakup. The song reached number one on the top 40 chart in 2015. In the music video, Shawn Mendes is knocked down repeatedly from an invisible emotional force.
Fun fact: Shawn Mendes prefers to sing music that he’s written himself, however he loved the lyric “Needle and the thread, gotta get you out of my head” and liked the song Stitches.
