I’m A Believer was written by Neil Diamond and was recorded by The Monkees. It was a number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks, becoming the biggest-selling record for 1967. The recording by The Monkees was not the first version of the song, as it had been recorded by Neil Diamond earlier. In 2001 Smash Mouth recorded I’m A Believer for the movie Shrek.
