The Deutschlandlied is the national anthem of Germany. The original music was written by Joseph Haydn, and called “Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser” for the birthday of Francis II. Heinrich Hoffman von Fallersleben wrote the lyrics of “Das lied der Deutschen”, of which the third stanza is sung as the national anthem.

This piano arrangement of the German national song, Deutschlandlied, is fantastic for pianists of all ages! It contains some octaves and moderate technical challenges in the left hand, but it manageable by pianists of a moderate technical standard. If you have ever wanted to perform the German national anthem, this is your chance!
