Learn how to play The Mausoleum (from Cuphead) by Kristofer Maddigan on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Cuphead is a game styled after 1930’s cartoons and features hand drawn artwork reminiscent of the era as well as original, fun, and engaging music that help make the game very enjoyable. The Mausoleum is a stage that exists in each area of Inkwell Isle. During the stage, a group of pink ghosts, called The Spectre Syndicate, will attempt to reach an urn that’s in the middle of an altar. Only by parrying each of the ghosts before they reach the urn will you win the level. In the game version of this song it is played (uncharacteristically) with an organ and a theremin to create that signature spooky sound.

Learn how to play Stickerbush Symphony (“Bramble Blast” from Donkey Kong Country 2) by David Wise on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Bramble Blast is the 16th level of Donkey Kong Country 2 and contains what is possibly the most famous and nostalgic songs of the soundtrack, if not of the entire group of games released at that time. What makes Stickerbush Symphony (sometimes called “Stickerbrush Symphony”) interesting is not only the fact that it almost wasn’t used (as it was originally intended for a water or cloud level), but that it serves as a “thorny juxtaposition” and calming influence in what turns out to be an extremely difficult level. Featuring a filters, synths, and a healthy dose of echo and delay effects, this song offers an excellent ambient atmosphere as you blast from barrel to barrel over and over again, making sure to time each shot just right. If you get upset at the level, just wait for an extra moment and take a deep breath as you let the music into your mind instead. Predictably, this arrangement sounds just as beautiful in our synthesia piano tutorial and makes for a wonderful calming piece to play for others.
