Chopin wrote the Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major in 1832 as part of his Op. 10 set of piano studies. It is well known as a beautiful addition to the etudes, and has carried the names “Tristesse” (Sadness) and “Farewell” (L’Adieu). The cantabile manner of this etude sets it apart from the ferocious technicality and speed of most of the other etudes in the op. 10. Enjoy this beautiful rendition of this sweet and calm Chopin etude: you won’t regret learning it!

The Nocturne No. 21 in C minor, Op. posth. is a musical work for solo piano written by Frédéric Chopin in 1837. It was the last of Chopin’s nocturnes to be published, and was done so posthumously in 1860. It is famous for its striking simplicity and folk-like melody. Among the 21 nocturnes known to have been written by Chopin, this is one of the three that end in a minor key. The composition is structured as a single movement marked Andante sostenuto, meaning it is to be played a little slower than a walking pace.
