Learn how to play Préludes, Book 1, No. 9 “La sérénade interrompue” (The Interrupted Serenade) by Claude Debussy on piano with this Synthesia piano tutorial! Please enjoy!

Prelude No. 9 from Debussy’s Préludes is entitled La sérénade interrompue (Interrupted Serenade) and emulates a guitar player who is interrupted from their serenade. Within the prelude, Debussy incorporates several novel pianistic effects to mimic the guitar, such as repeated notes and undulating chords, doing so in similar style to other composers such as Albéniz. This beautiful prelude sounds amazing here, and you can see how it is played on screen! This prelude is to be played moderately lively, with a marking of Modérément animé. The Debussy Préludes received renewed viewership in 2019 with the release of Untitled Goose Game, wherein players control a goose and cause havoc in a mischievous fashion.

This piano arrangement of Préludes, Book 1, No. 9 “La sérénade interrompue” (The Interrupted Serenade) is fantastic to play! You can learn it with our Synthesia piano tutorial, or from our official Sheet Music Boss sheet music at the top of the description!
