The Final Countdown is a song by Europe, written in 1986 after Joey Tempest was inspired from David Bowie’s lyrics in Space Oddity. #TheFinalCountdown was a huge hit for the Swedish band, firmly making a statement on the world by rocketing to the number one position in 25 countries. The music video for The Final Countdown has cemented #Europe in our hearts, and it’s difficult for anyone to avoid belting out this obscenely good chorus.
