Pomp and Circumstance is a military march by Edward Elgar, often featured at graduation ceremonies due to its majestic sound. The trio theme in Pomp and Circumstance was noted by King Edward VII as a potentially good theme for a song, to which Elgar worked with A. C. Benson to create Land of Hope and Glory. Since its release, Land of Hope and Glory has been one of the most widely loved British patriotic songs and even preferred by the British public as a national anthem over God Save the Queen.
This piano arrangement of Pomp and Circumstance is pitched at a more advanced level, but may be learned by upper intermediate level pianists. The sheet music is freely available on IMSLP, so visit our link above to check it about!
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… a commenter by the name of Justin Y. commented on almost every video on YouTube, including many of our videos at Sheet Music Boss! We think he’s a fun guy, so we wrote this piece based on computer generated speech. This march-like and jig-like piece would make for an exciting standalone work, and fun to play at a concert! It is written for upper intermediate level pianists and above.

Il Canto degli Italiani (The Song/Chant of the Italians) is the current national anthem of Italy as of December 2017. The lyrics were written by a 20 year old Goffredo Mameli and the music was written by Michele Novaro. Beginning in B-flat major and ending in E-flat major, this anthem displays use of progressive tonality. It follows march-like patterns and is both fun to play and listen to.
This arrangement of the Italian national anthem is made for intermediate level pianists and is very manageable to play.
Lyrics:
Fratelli d’Italia,
l’Italia s’è desta,
dell’elmo di Scipio
s’è cinta la testa.
Dov’è la Vittoria?
Le porga la chioma,
ché schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò.
(x2)
Stringiamci a coorte,
siam pronti alla morte.
Siam pronti alla morte,
l’Italia chiamò.
Stringiamci a coorte,
siam pronti alla morte.
Siam pronti alla morte,
l’Italia chiamò! Sì!
English lyrics:
Brothers of Italy,
Italy has woken,
bound Scipio’s helmet
Upon her head.
Where is Victory?
Let her bow down,
Because [as a] slave of Rome
God created her.
(x2)
Let us join in a cohort,
we are ready to die.
We are ready to die,
Italy has called.
Let us join in a cohort,
We are ready to die.
We are ready to die,
Italy has called! Yes!
The Sound of Silence is a song by Simon & Garfunkel, featuring acoustic guitar and overdubbed vocals. It is a folksy and whimsical sad song that contains moments of optimism. Since its release it has become the subject of a meme based on the lyric “Hello darkness my old friend” which is often accompanied with various pictures of sad people or an unfortunate subject who has just experienced misfortune.
The Sound of Silence works very well on piano and this intermediate level arrangement is very satisfying to perform. We’re sure you’ll love it, so check out the sheet music!
Lyrics:
Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
Fools, said I, you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence

Lyrics:
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Hold your head up
Keep your head up, movin’ on
Hold your head up, movin’ on
Keep your head up, movin’ on
Hold your head up, movin’ on
Keep your head up, movin’ on
Hold your head up, movin’ on
Keep your head up
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
Sweet dreams are made of this

Sweet dreams are made of this

I’ve traveled the world and the 7 seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something
First you rushed A, then you rushed B. Now you’re gonna rush E. We had so much fun making the impossible version of Rush E that we had to make a playable version for everyone who wanted to learn it. It’s a tricky piece, but we’re sure that you’ll love it once you learn how to play it. Perhaps in 100 years time we’ll have historians perplexed on the origins of this piece and how it spawned from an impossibly confusing set of memes.
This arrangement is meant for advanced level pianists, but upper intermediate level pianists should be able to give this a shot. It features some tricky leaping, repeated note melodies and lashings of oom-pah bass! Enjoy!
Bill Wurtz is a popular content creator and musician on YouTube. His style is distinct, funny and quaint. “i wanna be a moviestar” one of Bill Wurtz’ popular songs, telling the story of a monotonous life (possibly just vague social commentary). This piano arrangement works well and we really hope you enjoy listening to it!
Lyrics:
I wanna be a movie star
Do you ever feel bad?
Do you ever get sad?
Maybe that’s just what you’re supposed to do
Do you have a nice car?
Do you live in a cool house?
Nobody knows what you’re going through
I wanna be a movie star
Do you ever make plans?
Do you ever have sex?
Maybe that’s just what you’re supposed to do
Maybe we can go out
Would you rather stay in?
Everyone wants more than just a friend
I wanna be a movie star
I wanna be a movie star
And I know you’re probably wondering who you are
And I know it might seem lonely, but we’ve come so far
Do you like to wear pants?
Do you love to fly planes?
Maybe that’s just what you’re supposed to do
Maybe we should sell out
Maybe we can buy gold
Maybe we can just go back home
I’m gonna be a movie star
I’m gonna be a movie star
I’m gonna be a movie star
I’m gonna be a movie star
Humility is a song by Gorillaz featuring George Benson. It is from their sixth album, The Now Now. The music video features Jack Black playing guitar among other animated antics with 2D and the gang. Our piano arrangement of Humility is a very relaxed and laid back piece that would work well as a piece of light entertainment. It is only moderately difficult, so it can be performed by pianists of intermediate standard and above.
Lyrics:
Calling the world from isolation
‘Cause right now, that’s the ball where we’re betrayed
And if you’re coming back to find me
You’d better have good aim, shoot, it true
I need you in the picture, that’s why I’m calling you
I’m alone between the left hand
Reset myself and get back on track
I don’t want this isolation
See the state I’m in now?
Caught in the hard to win the raffle
‘Cause right now that’s the ball where we be chained
Shoot, it true
I want you in the picture, that’s why I’m calling you
I’m alone between the left hand
Reset myself and get back on track
I don’t want this isolation
See the state I’m in now?
If I pick it up when I know that it’s broken
Do I put it back?
Or do I head out on to the lonesome track and let you go?
I’m alone between the left hand
I dont want this isolation
See the state I’m in now?
If I pick it up when I know that it’s broken
Do I put it back?
Or do I head out on to the lonesome track and let you go?
