Londonderry Air is an ancient tune that originated in County Londonderry, Ireland. It is one of the most well-known Irish tunes throughout the world and also appears under different titles, such as “Danny Boy” and “Irish Tune from County Derry”. Percy Grainger wrote various settings of the tune after collecting it from an old woman who suggested the tune was “very old” and the author was unknown. This piano arrangement is based on Grainger’s version of the piece, and is our special release for St. Patrick’s Day.

This arrangement is well-suited to intermediate level pianists who want a musically satisfying rendition of this well-known work to perform at a concert. It is a sensitive and passionate version.
